This spring, five team members from the USA will take part in one of two missions trips to Kenya in 2023! On April 17th, Caleb Sigler (Memphis, TN), Terri Sigler (Montgomery, AL), Brooke Glassford (Montgomery, AL), Charlotte Robertson (Montgomery, AL), and Emily Griffin (Montgomery, AL) will depart for Luanda, Kenya, to spend nine days on the ground with MCCH's Kenyan staff, Mescal's Kids (residents of the children's home), and community members.
An exciting event that will take place during the trip will be the official dedication ceremony for Mescal's Christian Academy (MCA)! Though the school has been in operation since the summer of 2021, there has not yet been a community-wide dedication of the school. The USA team is grateful to witness in person what is sure to be a God-glorifying event that will communicate the school's mission (as seen below) to the entire community.
More than anything, the highlight of every trip teams or individuals make to Kenya is time spent in fellowship with MCCH staff and Mescal's Kids. As USA partners travel overseas to visit the ministry in person, we always tell teams that the purpose of these trips isn't to do; rather, it's to be. Being present with believers in different contexts around the world provides an opportunity to gain a special glimpse into God's heart for the global church, and the future reality of heaven made up of people from every tribe, nation, and tongue! The encouragement gained by everyone in the Mescal's family through these times of fellowship and worship can't be adequately expressed in words. April can't get here soon enough!
