Hands of Hope
MCCH Executive Director, Ruth Owuor, felt a strong desire to empower women in her community with the tools they needed to care for their families well. In addition to providing education about hygiene, parenting, and nutrition to women in the program, Ruth began teaching different methods of creating handicrafts to sell in the United States in order to pay for their children's school fees and other basic necessities.
Crafts such as jewelry, angel ornaments, soapstone animals, bowls, and nativities are now being sold at special events that the stateside ministry of MCCH hosts throughout the year. Along with crafting, Ruth engages women in Bible study and prayer as part of the program in order to holistically care for their spiritual and emotional needs.
